Just as you do with your own health insurance, sooner is better when starting your dog on his own  insurance coverage.

Why?…to avoid paying higher monthly premiums and problems with situations which could considered as "pre-existing" conditions.

BEWARE of any pet insurance company claiming that they actually cover "hereditary" conditions…there is a fine print that will tell you that it is very limited or is really only covered for about a year.

Again, use your common sense when reading over  the pet insurance policy.

Tomorrow, we talk about the "dreaded" pre-existing conditions which plague our own policy and can trip you up in your dog's policy.
